Theres things that I like which interest me.... tiny houses on wheels... living in less than 200 Sq feet..
Retained heat cooking... art, making mead, beer, wine, distilling essential oils.. meat pies, renn faires, medieval cooking, solar heating water, reflector ovens.... making soap.. art bronze, school and learning as a life style.. Marzipan and candied fruit....

Pizza, earth ovens, pizza ovens, free food...herbalisim, food as medicine...  writing recipes, stealing recipes, altering recipes.. cook books, writing my own cook book... BBQ, Sausages.. Netsuke, silversmithing, copper smithing.... not becoming a pikey, getting my money.. keeping it... more classes finishing my degree... taking a creative writing class claiming urban dictionary as a college credit.....

Mostly my GF.. who actually gets me.. is curvy... cute and funny, smart and kinda exactly who I need. and up for anything...

Stick food

Its in the blood....... I spend a lot of time out doors so most of what I do tends to be from that perspective so  food on stick sticks is a big deal... Its still raining and the lights are flickering... so power may just be going out.. but till then I can write and publish as I go... it doesn't matter if its pork, goat, chicken, beef , lamb, shrimp or ground combination thereof..

I have a comal and grill pan for cooking stick food inside or out.... assuming I don't go direct over live coals.... or use a grate... What I like best is kababs over live coals, augmented with flat bread and tadziki
in mass quantitys...

I also like chilis in some form and the fact that cumin seems to get into most everything... and you can't believe how good it is..

Flat bread and stick food are trans-cultural.. Yakatori... Souvlaki, Sashlik, Kebab, Kefta .. you just pick what works for you.. I like a foccacia type flat bread cause it lasts a week without getting hard..

The whole flat bread stick food thing over live coals is thousands of years old.... its a nice thing to consider as you make dinner... or decide between McDonalds and real food

Bread...

Flour, water, yeast and a little salt to slow the yeast.... some times a little honey if my yeast needs a boost.. I like soft foccacia dough I can toss around like a pizza.... cause chances are the end of the day thats what it'll end up being...

This is a photo from a couple of years ago... but its typical and bread doesn't change a lot... I don't use cherry or grape, tomatoes much cause the bread doesn't last... now I'll bake in rosemary or other herbs maybe oil cured olives and Parmesan.... the anchovies I crush in olive oil with garlic and use as a spread...

Mostly I like my bread plain... brushed with olive oil  then sprinkled with salt and cumin.... real desert dweller food...

Rain rain and some more rain

Its been raining all day..... it started last night after time with the girlfriend a fine start to winter on both counts..

Normally I only see rain during monsoon season, then its warm as blood or comes down in torrents replete with gale force winds and other joys....

Somewhere I have a photo of a storm wall advancing..I had something like five minutes to hide, but I was ready..

Seems I found that photo.... I cant remember if it was July or August, this year or last, it doesn't ever change.

I like how hot and bright the sun is... everything in the world bleached, faded and dry...

Then the storms...... torrential rains, flooding, thunder lightening, the sky doing violence upon the earth..

But today is different..... the sky slowly turned grey over a period of days.... the rain is steady, cool and refereshing...  not buckets or buckshot...

My day is all about sleeping and sneezing because the humidity is making my nose run.....

I think it was last night..

I took photos for Leigh, not the usual on line wanna see my willie type... its more about real life ergo..

My dinner... it was olive oil, anchovies garlic some sorta grated cheese and smoked oysters...... an bread ....sad no?

Ok it was toast... not just bread....

I need to work on my recipes

Deep fried shrimp, mushrooms, oysters I have this obsession about tempura anything and food on sticks which I think is pretty, good and pretty good... not that I deep fry anything very often, I just have random food fits...

Yeah its fun and all.... but Im seriously considering applying for college credit based on my "work" as part of a creative writing course....or a sociology thing....

Its either a depraved stroke of brilliance..... or just depraved...

I need to be prepared, the people I'm supposed to work for after Christmas havn't been in contact with me and they did flake on me before.. So I may be in trouble...

I have options I need to chase... an internship, play the Americorps card or whatever its called now and teach first aid for a stipend, or help with emergency planning.. anything that counts towards my degree..

Leigh is happy... and she deserves it... I want time with her, but Im sort or weird about terms.. I want to be the host and offer hot water, easy life and  fun in general...A winery tour and excursions, not my problems..

Its not over yet with the job... but I can't name a time in the last year or two when its gone well,  so Im being proactive and writing them off...... My personal world is easy... I don't have bad or expensive habits everything I have is paid for and I'm ok with bathing in cold water ... its the fun stuff I struggle with..

I want us to be on a 30 day road trip... go explore Carlsbad Caverns... drive 2,000  miles and nose into all the coolness there is to poke around in... not fancy stuff, just good normal life....
